Aircraft Avionics Technician Overview

Strom Aviation is in search of a proficient Aircraft Avionics Technician to become a vital part of our organization. In this role, you will be tasked with conducting maintenance inspections, executing repairs, and performing installations on aircraft electrical and avionic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular maintenance inspections on aircraft electrical and avionic systems to avert potential failures.
  • Constructs wiring harnesses and installs or modifies avionic and electrical systems as needed.
  • Assesses repair or replacement requirements for various components and systems.
  • Adheres to approved maintenance protocols and ensures that repaired components comply with established standards.
  • Analyzes wiring diagrams, diagnoses malfunctions, and tests components and assemblies.
  • Prepares and operates testing equipment for functional flight evaluations.
  • Diagnoses, repairs, and modifies malfunctioning systems effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft avionics, demonstrating expertise in wiring diagrams, harness fabrication, and connectors.
  • Preferred: Experience within an executive jet repair facility.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of technical tasks and responsibilities related to avionics.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, installation, repair, equipment selection, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with machinery, tools, and FAA regulations.
  • Capable of interpreting work package instructions, inspecting, and installing parts and components.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current A&P or FAA Repairman Certificate (Avionics) is required.
  • Preferred: FCC License.
