About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Engineer to join our team at McKinstry. As a key member of our construction implementation team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of projects, including documentation, procurement, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Assist with the management of projects, including documentation, procurement, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal parties.
  • Request for Proposal (RFP) and Procurement: Support the RFP and procurement processes, ensuring timely and accurate responses to client requests.
  • Scope of Work Development: Assist in the development of Scope of Work for subcontractors, ensuring clear and concise documentation.
  • Field Coordination: Coordinate field activities of self-performed and subcontracted work, responding to questions raised by Superintendents, reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications, and other resources to answer questions in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Communicate with Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, and Owners to assist the project management team with daily duties.
  • Equipment, Material, and Informational Submittals: Develop, process, and track equipment, material, and informational submittals, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Operations and Maintenance Manuals: Create and publish Operations and Maintenance Manuals for clients, ensuring clear and concise documentation.
  • Contract, Drawings, and Specifications: Obtain detailed knowledge of the contract, drawings, and specifications for projects, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Client and Subcontractor Change Order Process: Assist in the client and subcontractor change order process, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Project Files Management: Update and manage all project files, including maintaining employee, vendor, and miscellaneous files.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Construction Concepts: Possess knowledge of construction concepts, including reading and interpreting construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other regularly encountered items.
  • Education and Experience: Hold a BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a comparable degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project, with working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Customer Service and Office Administration Experience: Possess customer service and/or office administration experience, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and administrative support.
