Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Systems Engineer to contribute to the planning and implementation of transmission projects that ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of electricity to our customers. As a key member of our Power Delivery team, you will utilize your expertise in electrical engineering to develop and implement solutions that meet our Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and evaluate transmission systems, processes, and facilities to support Company objectives.
  • Develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions that meet business needs.
  • Maintain project timeliness and budgets.
  • Participate in the development of new WECC/NERC standards to influence the successful implementation of clear and concise standards that support improved reliability for the electric system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calm.
  • Demonstrated communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with the use of personal computers, including automated tools and software applications, such as power flow and dynamic analysis, database management, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, and use of EMS or SCADA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Power Option (particularly Power System Analysis).
  • Advanced Degree.
  • Preferred one or more years of directly related experience in transmission modeling, transmission system engineering, and/or transmission system planning.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations, the National Electric Codes, and familiarity with NERC and WECC reliability standards.
