Job Overview

Position: Construction Inspector

Salary: Competitive

Keller Associates is seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about engineering and construction. We are looking for a knowledgeable Construction Inspector to collaborate with our engineering team in overseeing construction initiatives, particularly those related to water and sewer systems, along with potential roadway enhancement projects.

An ideal candidate will possess a robust background in construction, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. The role requires adaptability and a willingness to acquire new skills and responsibilities as necessary. Travel may be required, with typical job sites located within a reasonable distance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and observations to ensure compliance with contract specifications and plans.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs of project activities, including labor, materials, and equipment used.
  • Identify any necessary contract modifications and assist in the development of change orders.
  • Prepare field notes for progress billing.
  • Facilitate effective communication with contractors, project owners, and engineering personnel.
  • Coordinate the sampling and testing of required materials.
  • Provide feedback on draft plans to enhance constructability prior to project initiation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably in water/wastewater projects.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site for extended durations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work with engineers to address complex challenges.
