We are currently looking for a skilled Construction Inspector to work closely with our engineering team on various construction projects, focusing primarily on water and sewer infrastructure, with potential involvement in roadway reconstruction.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of construction practices, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. A willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to different roles is essential. Travel may be required, with typical job sites located within a two-hour radius but occasionally further.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and observations to ensure compliance with contract specifications and plans.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of labor, equipment, materials, and quantities.
  • Identify changes in contracts and assist in the preparation of change orders.
  • Prepare field notes for progress payments.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, project owners, and engineering personnel.
  • Coordinate necessary material sampling and testing.
  • Provide constructability reviews of draft plans prior to the commencement of construction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and equipment used in various projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams).
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably in water/wastewater projects.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers to address complex challenges.
