Job Summary

As a key member of our team, the Plant Manager will oversee and manage all plant operations, ensuring the successful execution of production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and receiving, safety, and customer service and inventory control.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning and driver scheduling to ensure timely and cost-effective manufacturing objectives.
  • Develop and control profits, plans, and budgets.
  • Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Manage capital asset maintenance, establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, quality, and safety standards.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment, replace or make adjustments when necessary.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements/standards, reporting, and managing.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Provide direction, development, and leadership to direct reports.
  • Responsible for the performance management of all plant personnel.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly report compliance.

Requirements:

  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Financial management and business acumen.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Work Environment:

The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate, and the employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a related field or five years of plant/general management experience in a concrete or construction environment is required. Effective communication skills in the English language are essential.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

A current, unrestricted, California Class B license with tanker and airbrake endorsements is required.
