About the Role

The Materials Supervisor is a key member of the Amcor Rigid Packaging team, responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the facility's production planning, inventory control, customer service, and logistics.

This role provides support to the Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse Departments to deliver high-quality containers in greater numbers as a superior level of service to the customer.

The Materials Supervisor will oversee materials employees and administer all company and plant policies, as well as local and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform production planning on a daily basis and monthly scheduling to maximize equipment efficiencies.
  • Enter sales orders and subsequent changes to guarantee the delivery of customer requirements.
  • Purchase raw materials and shipping materials needed by the production departments to manufacture quality containers efficiently.
  • Communicate directly with customers to satisfy product and delivery needs, information or planning requirements, and materials specifications.
  • Communicate with production, maintenance, and other internal personnel the scheduling needs for both injection and blowmold.
  • Supervise and assist with inventory control through cycle counting, production scheduling, and warehousing.
  • Assist and perform regular maintenance of manufacturing data base to provide optimum use and accurate reporting.
  • Supervise and train materials and warehouse employees, including the warehouse supervisor, materials specialist, resin handler, and seasonal materials clerk.
  • Indirectly supervise line drivers, materials handlers, shipping coordinators, and loaders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required. Combined education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond in group environments.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statics.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and extensive variety of instructions and customer needs.
