Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician

Join the Tumwater School District team as a Registered Behavior Technician, providing essential support to students with significant behavioral and social emotional challenges.

Job Summary:

This is a one-year position, working 6.5 hours a day, with a rate of pay between $36.17 and $40.00 per hour. The successful candidate will work closely with a supervisor to implement data collection, measurement, and assessment procedures, as well as skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement continuous and discontinuous measurement procedures, including frequency, duration, and partial interval recording.
  • Conduct preference assessments and assist with individualized assessment procedures, such as curriculum-based and social skills assessments.
  • Identify essential components of written skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans, and prepare sessions accordingly.
  • Use contingencies of reinforcement, including conditioned and unconditioned reinforcement, and continuous and intermittent schedules.
  • Implement discrete-trial teaching procedures, naturalistic teaching procedures, and task-analyzed chaining procedures.
  • Assist with training of staff, parents, and students, and provide documentation and reporting as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • ESSA certification required.
  • 1+ year of experience working in an educational setting with students experiencing significant behavioral/social emotional challenges.
  • Current training in restraint and isolation techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills.
  • WA State driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between schools if required.
