Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the HVAC Supervisor to effectively manage assigned personnel to meet 24/7 facility coverage and maintain facility goal of 99% uptime for HVAC systems
  • Provide direction to HVAC technicians to maintain performance specification for cleanroom environments as well as other facility spaces
  • Identify management training opportunities to develop your own skills in leadership, planning, conflict management, decision making, and communications
  • Assist the HVAC Supervisor to implement comprehensive Preventive Maintenance programs for facility equipment in CMMS system
  • Help plan, assign, and distribute work orders and work requests
  • Assure technicians are entering appropriate data into CMMS and completing work orders in a timely fashion
  • Help supervise maintenance and repair activities
  • Assist the HVAC Supervisor with guidance and support of the technicians with the training of existing and new staff members in CMMS
  • Assist and support the training of existing and new staff members in various other trade-related systems and programs
  • Assist the HVAC supervisor with training technicians in all capacities of operating procedures, completion of work orders, mentoring, and verification of technician knowledge training, SOP review, and project completion planning
  • Assist the HVAC Supervisor to establish, assign, and adjust work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of personnel and equipment
  • Assist in the training and instruction of employees in new methods or procedures
  • Provide technical assistance to mechanics and inspect work in process for quality and to ensure its completion within allotted time limits
  • Work with Facilities Engineering on new construction and renovation projects
  • Provide input and recommendations on system design, equipment selection, and means & methods of construction
  • Help interpret policies and procedures to assigned personnel and enforce safety regulations and adherence to required codes and standards
  • Promote EHS training requirements for assigned personnel
Requirements:
  • A technical trade degree with a minimum of 4 years of related HVAC/mechanical work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience of Mechanical/HVAC staff in a facility operations environment
  • OR a minimum of 3 years of Mechanical/HVAC work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience of Mechanical/HVAC staff in a facility operations environment
  • Must possess EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification, good personal relations, and communications skills, and the ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Must be able to carry and respond to cell phone/emails outside of regularly scheduled work hours
  • Candidates must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population
  • Must complete a satisfactory background investigation
