Job Description:

NY CREATES is seeking an HVAC Assistant Supervisor to assist the HVAC supervisor in managing the efficient operation of facility systems. This position is responsible for assisting the HVAC supervisor in effectively managing assigned personnel to meet 24/7 facility coverage and maintaining facility goals of 99% uptime for HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the HVAC supervisor in implementing comprehensive Preventive Maintenance programs for facility equipment in the CMMS system.

Provide direction to HVAC technicians to maintain performance specifications for cleanroom environments and other facility spaces.

Identify management training opportunities to develop skills in leadership, planning, conflict management, decision making, and communications.

Assist the HVAC supervisor in planning, assigning, and distributing work orders and work requests, ensuring technicians enter appropriate data into the CMMS system and complete work orders in a timely fashion.

Requirements:

A technical trade degree with a minimum of 4 years of related HVAC/mechanical work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience of Mechanical/HVAC staff in a facility operations environment.

OR a minimum of 3 years of Mechanical/HVAC work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience of Mechanical/HVAC staff in a facility operations environment.

Must possess EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification, good personal relations, and communication skills, and the ability to write clearly and concisely.

Must be able to carry and respond to cell phone/emails outside of regularly scheduled work hours. Candidates must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population. Must complete a satisfactory background investigation.
