KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engages in advanced mechanical tasks related to the upkeep and repair of heavy machinery under general supervision.

1. Overhauls engines on trucks, automobiles, refuse collection vehicles, and other substantial machinery.
2. Procures necessary components for vehicle maintenance.
3. Conducts service visits in various locations.
4. Identifies faults in automotive machinery.
5. Resolves breakdowns or issues pertaining to automotive machinery.
6. Rectifies defective automotive machinery.
7. Performs associated duties as required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two years of experience in mechanical services within a commercial garage setting.

SUBSTITUTION:
Additional hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal training requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must undergo and successfully complete pre-employment and random substance abuse testing as required by relevant regulations.
Must utilize safety gear as mandated by safety regulations.
Must be available for on-call duties at all times.
Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:


Must possess and retain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement or acquire it within six months of employment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Meets consistent attendance expectations and any specific requirements of the role as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and related tasks.
Engages in prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing.
Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team environment.
Requires sufficient vision and hearing to identify and rectify mechanical issues.
