Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic plays a crucial role in diagnosing and repairing service trucks and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair service trucks and machinery to fulfill operational needs.
- Utilize tools and equipment for both shop and field repairs.
- Supervise and direct personnel while coordinating shop activities.
- Diagnose and rectify various electrical systems.
- Rebuild, replace, or repair components of drilling rigs and related equipment.
- Prioritize and manage repair work orders efficiently.
- Assess and recommend repairs along with cost estimates.
- Ensure the completion of all repair tasks.
- Oversee fabrication and assembly processes in the shop.
- Source and order parts necessary for repairs.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
- Comprehend and adhere to transportation and safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe and operational environment for tools and equipment.
- Accurately document information for payroll purposes.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Valid Class B driver's license; endorsements are advantageous.
- Forklift, crane, and welding certifications are beneficial.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanic role.

Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Previous experience in drilling and knowledge of the industry is a plus.
- Strong organizational capabilities.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential functions effectively. Regular activities include talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to operate tools. The role also requires frequent lifting or moving of up to 70 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
