Automotive Mechanic III

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Mechanic III to join our team at the Louisville Metro Government. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical work on a variety of automotive equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Overhaul motors on trucks, cars, and other large equipment
- Secure parts for vehicles
- Make service calls in the field
- Diagnose defects in automotive equipment
- Correct break downs or problems concerning automotive equipment
- Perform related work
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
- Two years of experience in mechanical work in a commercial garage
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the Department of Transportation
- Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
- Must be on 24 hour call
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement or obtain within six months of employment
This position requires the ability to spend prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing. The successful candidate must also be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting.
