I. Job Summary
Oversees and performs the repair and maintenance of heavy machinery and mechanical equipment, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to identify issues.
- Dismantles devices and guides less experienced mechanics in the disassembly process to access and remove defective components.
- Inspects parts for form and texture to identify imperfections.
- Evaluates used parts to determine changes in dimensional specifications.
- Adjusts functional components of devices and control instruments.
- Installs specialized functional and structural components in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts as necessary.
- Initiates devices to test their functionality.
- Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to fabricate and repair components.
- Coordinates procurement of parts and machinery.
- Assists or leads less experienced heavy equipment mechanics as needed.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include supervisory duties but serves as a team lead.

- Education: None required.
- Experience: Six (6) years of relevant experience.

Environmental Demands and Work Environment

- Requires motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) for most of the workday.
- Rarely requires physical effort in handling objects weighing less than 30 pounds.

- Rarely exposed to a physical environment that involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements.
- Normal setting for this job involves operating and repairing equipment.
