Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join our team at Science Corp. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

About the Role:
  • Financial Leadership:
  • Develop and manage the company's annual financial plan, department budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning to support our strategic goals.
  • Financial Analysis:
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand and challenge financial assumptions, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Strategic Support:
  • Prepare detailed financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, go-to-market plans, product development, and investment decisions.
  • Financial Management:
  • Monitor key financial metrics, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Reporting and Presentations:
  • Support investor relations by preparing financial reports, presentations, and narratives for stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to internal company meeting presentations and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Financial Dashboards:
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Special Projects:
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses, including M&A activities, scenario planning, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in FP&A, preferably leading a team.
  • Experience working with large data sets and complex models.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and key financial metrics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels of an organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both technology and life sciences industries.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, SAP).
  • MBA and 2+ years of experience in investment banking.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $190,000 - $230,000 annually + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
