Nurse Home Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Home Administrator to oversee and manage operations at our designated nursing facility. This role involves directing and evaluating long-term and acute care operations, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and providing quality care to residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and supervise nursing, social services, medical services, activities, dietary, pastoral care, medical records, compliance, life safety, admissions, quality assurance, and performance improvement.
  • Develop departmental procedures and policies in accordance with governing statutes.
  • Monitor business operations including purchasing, personnel requests, and contracts for physicians.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and licensure standards.
  • Oversee medical reporting, staffing, and procedures to maintain quality of care.
  • Supervise activity programming and evaluate patient rehabilitation programs.
  • Maintain appropriate census and manage admissions and denials of residents.
  • Ensure a robust infection control program.
  • Act as lead during annual surveys by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and Ohio Department of Health.
  • Develop and implement fire and disaster plans, as well as nursing educational programs.
  • Collaborate with various health organizations and participate in community engagement activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Nursing Home Administrator License certified by the Ohio Board of Executives of Long-Term Services and Supports (BELTSS).
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards, as well as relevant health laws and regulations governing nursing home operations.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles, departmental organization, and community interrelationships.
