About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. As a member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer nursing care within the scope of practice, as set forth in Ohio Revised Code, under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician.
  • Maintain medication accountability records, including charts and medication counts.
  • Observe, report, and document residents' conditions in our clinical software system.
  • Prepare and maintain related reports, such as progress notes and care plans.
  • Provide general nursing, direct care, and programming assistance, including activities of daily living and vital sign monitoring.
  • Apply safety and infection control measures.
  • Provide assistance to Hospital Aides, including dressing, bathing, and feeding.
  • Attend various meetings, including Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and staff conferences.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a license to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing, as well as proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration.

Note: Licensed Practical Nurses who administer dialysis treatment must possess Certification in IV Therapy, as per Ohio Revised Code.
