Patient Transporter, Part-time

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients and equipment throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Transport patients and equipment to various areas of the hospital, adhering to established safety procedures and protocols.
- Monitor and maintain the proper functioning of all transportation equipment, reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to inquiries and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless patient care and transportation services.
- High school graduation or equivalent required; six months of customer service experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required by the first day of employment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment, as well as stand and walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
