Patient Transporter Role Overview
Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team. As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients within our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher to various departments and areas within PHHS
- Assist in the transport of critical care patients in conjunction with clinical staff
- Maintain a positive working relationship with other hospital staff to facilitate effective communication
- Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction, making recommendations to supervisors
Requirements
- 6 months of experience in healthcare and/or customer service
- Current CPR-Heartsaver course completion card
- Ability to read and write, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent PHHS in a positive manner
Working Environment
The Patient Transporter will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent exposure to blood and/or body fluids, sharps hazards, and infectious disease exposure. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient patient transportation.
