We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career and Academic Coordinator to join our team at Bay Area Community Resources (BACR). As a key member of our Career Pathways division, you will play a vital role in bridging participants to employment, career opportunities, and post-secondary education.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth career assessments and develop personalized career and education plans with participants.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to participants to help them achieve their short and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with case managers to ensure effective case planning and coordination of services.
- Refer participants to additional services and programs as needed, and accompany them to appointments and meetings.
- Utilize industry standards to advise participants on career paths and provide guidance on job readiness and interview preparation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers, educational institutions, and community partners to provide participants with access to job training, education, and employment opportunities.
- Monitor participant progress and provide regular updates to case managers and other stakeholders.
- Participate in program development and evaluation, and contribute to the development of new services and programs.
- 2+ years of experience working in the workforce development field, preferably with a focus on reentry and career pathways.
- Experience working with adult populations, particularly those with multiple barriers to employment.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices in career development and education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service.
- Valid California driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as education, counseling, or social work.
- Reentry lived experience or a strong understanding of the reentry population.
- Experience working with data entry and analysis software, such as Excel and database management systems.
- Knowledge of Bay Area communities and career and education resources.
