Job Summary

The Career Development Director is a senior management position responsible for overseeing the Career Development Services department at Career Systems Development Corporation. This role requires a strong leader who can direct and manage a team of professionals to provide career development services to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Direct and manage a team of Career Development staff, including CPP, Academics, CTT, Career Counseling, WBL, and CTS departments.
    • Supervise and evaluate staff performance, provide coaching and development opportunities, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement career development programs and services that meet the needs of students and align with company goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and external partners to ensure understanding of career development services and programs.
    • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including businesses, community organizations, and government agencies, to provide career development opportunities for students.
  • Reporting and Evaluation
    • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of career development programs and services.
    • Develop and submit reports to management and stakeholders to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Education or a closely related field.
    • 15 semester hours of undergraduate coursework in Education.
  • Experience
    • Two years of counseling experience, one of which was in a supervisory capacity.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Sound knowledge of counseling and supervisory techniques.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with culturally disadvantaged and minority youth.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education
    • Master's degree in Education or a closely related field.
  • Experience
    • Previous work experience in education and training or Job Corps.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • State teaching credential.
    • Knowledge of special education law.
