Job Summary

The Patient Access Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records. This position is responsible for registering patients, processing insurance claims, and providing patient financial assistance. As a member of the Patient Access team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the patient experience and contribute to the success of OSF HealthCare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients and ensure accurate and complete medical records
  • Process insurance claims and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Provide patient financial assistance and explain financial responsibilities
  • Ensure excellent patient service skills and create a positive first impression of OSF HealthCare
  • Solve complex problems and issues in a multi-payer environment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and website navigation
  • Problem-solving, conflict management, and time management skills
  • Ability to complete role-specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
  • Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
  • Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
