Job Title: Insurance Verification Specialist

At Centers for Independence, we are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with payer contractual requirements and facilitating timely communication with payers to secure authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for patients
  • Communicate with payers to resolve authorization issues and secure coverage
  • Document all authorization-related information in the patient's electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and departments to ensure accurate and timely authorization
  • Perform electronic eligibility confirmation and verify insurance for encounters and visits
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, managed care, and/or patient registration
  • 3+ years of experience working with health insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial carriers
  • 3+ years of experience with EHR systems and prior authorization processes
  • Strong knowledge of insurance requirements and regulations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
