Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to oversee the entire operation of a student apartment community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of the property, including payroll, personnel, student and community development, revenue, expenses, management contract obligations, university relations, and timely collection of rent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all property employees and be responsible for the hiring, training, termination, development, and rewards of all staff.
  • Ensure compliance with American Campus Communities policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve resident satisfaction, retention, and overall community experience.
  • Manage budgets, financial reports, and other financial aspects of the property.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with university partners, local community leaders, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in the student/multi-family housing industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, staff, and stakeholders.
