About the Role

The Kitchen Director will be responsible for leading our Back of House team culture and operational efficiencies. They are the key catalyst of performance improvement and building up our Back of House team members into high performers and developing leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Support the Restaurant's Vision: Elevate our values and ensure they are upheld by the entire Back of House team.
  • Operational and Financial Goals: Support and influence the restaurant's overall operational and financial goals, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Flexible Work Schedules: Work flexible schedules to support the restaurant's operations and guest demands, including weekend availability.
  • Overtime and Audits: Participate in overtime opportunities and perform safe and secure audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Team Management: Maintain a positive working relationship with team members, providing direction, feedback, and coaching to ensure their growth and development.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory systems, verifying chicken products, ingredients, food cost, and quality to ensure optimal restaurant performance.
  • Cleaning and Food Safety: Lead, follow-up, and participate in daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly cleaning checklists, ensuring Food Safety and Cleanliness in the Kitchen.
  • Food Safety Ambassador: Be a Food Safety Ambassador, working with the Director team and allocated leadership to manage Food Safety Systems.
  • Speed of Service: Ensure team members work at a pace to maintain the restaurant's established speed of service guidelines.
  • Leadership Development: Develop team leaders through weekly team connects, preparing them for future leadership roles.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in community engagement events, such as school presentations, charitable events, and volunteer opportunities, representing Chick-fil-A in a positive light.

Requirements
  • Education: College degree or 2 years of college completed, or 2 years of proven leadership experience in business, athletics, clubs, ministry, or other relevant fields.
  • Leadership Skills: Self-directed and driven leader with a mindset of continuous improvement, history of taking initiative, and ability to think and problem solve.
  • Communication: Strong communicator with the ability to motivate and lead team members, attention to detail, determination, flexibility, patience, and efficiency.
