Full Job Overview:


This position involves assisting members with TruWest products, services, and account inquiries.

Responsibilities include managing department opening and closing tasks, handling non-cash transactions, establishing new accounts, and facilitating loan origination.

This role requires receiving incoming calls and making outbound calls to address member inquiries and assess their needs for various credit union offerings.

Key responsibilities include verifying member information and making decisions on service applications while ensuring adherence to credit union policies and lending regulations.

Additionally, the role requires the ability to perform the duties of a Membership Officer.

Exceptional service delivery to members, colleagues, and business partners is essential, embodying the TruService Philosophy and the values outlined in the TruWest Vision, Mission, and Values card.


Qualifications:

Education:
A high school diploma is required, with some college education in a related field preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in new account and loan origination is required. Experience in a contact center is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
Candidates should possess strong sales and referral capabilities.

A general understanding of TruWest products, services, and account requirements is necessary to identify cross-selling opportunities that benefit members.

Candidates must be able to interpret and comply with credit union policies and lending regulations.

Proficiency in mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and effective telephone etiquette and communication skills are essential.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and experience with office equipment such as calculators, keyboards, copiers, and fax machines is required.

Applicants should demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent member service and interpersonal abilities, are crucial. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promote products and services to members while maintaining acceptable referral and sales levels through phone interactions.
  • Understand and facilitate the opening of all deposit products received via telephone and through indirect dealership programs.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of loans offered by the credit union and assist in originating and troubleshooting consumer loans via phone.
  • Have a general understanding of the TruWest computer system and perform all non-cash teller transactions.
  • Adhere to credit union policies and procedures related to tellers and Member Service Representatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with co-workers, assistant managers, and department managers, demonstrating a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to members while maintaining professionalism in behavior and tone.
  • Accurately handle member transactions and complete assignments in a timely manner by organizing work effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and members both orally and in writing, maintaining a professional interface with other departments.
  • Follow credit union policies to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Security Policies, and Confidentiality Policies, while adhering to all TruWest Human Resource policies.
