Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and research studies on geohazards related to seismic activity and structural vulnerability.
  • Analyze data pertaining to earthquake and liquefaction-related losses.
  • Validate and verify model loss predictions.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and present scientific modeling findings.
  • Perform damage assessments following natural disasters on a global scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering is essential; a PhD is an added advantage.
  • Expertise in ground motion with the capability to apply ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs).
  • Comprehensive understanding of structural response and earthquake damage mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with QGIS or ArcGIS software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and probability is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally on short notice.
  • Experience in catastrophe modeling and knowledge of C# programming language are advantageous.
