Position Overview:

As a Lead Risk Assessment Specialist at PMA Companies, you will be responsible for evaluating and pricing intricate multi-line insurance risks, including but not limited to workers' compensation, commercial auto, and general liability. Your primary objective will be to secure new commercial insurance prospects while fostering and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and agents within your professional network. You will be instrumental in strategizing, managing, and nurturing these vital connections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and price coverage for commercial insurance risks
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations
  • Employ consultative selling strategies to attract new business opportunities
  • Monitor and assess underwriting and marketing initiatives
  • Provide guidance and training to team members
  • Oversee account management functions
  • Negotiate terms and proposals with clients
  • Develop and sustain client relationships
  • Identify and implement areas for operational improvement
  • Maintain the company's standards of business conduct and ethics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience with an insurance provider
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles and practices
  • Expertise in casualty coverage and deal structures
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and account management processes
  • Awareness of market dynamics and industry trends
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Capability to forge impactful business relationships
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel as required for business purposes
  • Professional designations such as CPCU or ARM are advantageous
