Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Front End/Courtesy Clerk to join our team at Smith's Food and Drug. As a Front End/Courtesy Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing customer transactions, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet and engage with customers, respond to their needs, and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Transaction Processing: Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, and SNAP EBT.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, and reporting any issues or concerns to management.
  • Inventory Management: Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items, such as alcohol and tobacco, and report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Adherence to Policies: Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons, and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Food Safety: Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, and reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Experience: Minimum of customer service experience, with ability to handle stressful situations and provide effective communication skills.
  • Math Skills: Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
