Job Title: Medical Physicist

Job Summary:

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team. As a Medical Physicist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate treatment plans for radiation therapy to ensure accurate and safe delivery
  • Calibrate and maintain radiation therapy equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists to optimize patient treatment plans and delivery
  • Provide technical direction to radiation oncology staff on radiation therapy procedures and protocols

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctor's degree in physics, biophysics, radiological physics, or health physics
  • One year of full-time training in therapeutic radiological physics
  • One year of full-time experience in a therapy facility, including personal calibration and spot check of at least one teletherapy unit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a clinical medical physics residency program
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics
  • Extensive knowledge of modern radiation therapy systems and sub-systems
  • Experience with treatment planning software systems, including Aria and RayStation

Working Conditions:

The Medical Physicist will work in a fast-paced radiation oncology department, collaborating with radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and other medical staff to ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to patients.
