Job Summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate treatment plans for radiation therapy to ensure accurate and safe delivery of radiation doses.
  • Calibrate and maintain therapy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on treatment planning systems and radiation-measuring equipment.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists to optimize patient treatment plans and delivery.
  • Develop and implement quality management programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctor's degree in physics, biophysics, radiological physics, or health physics.
  • One year of full-time training in therapeutic radiological physics.
  • One year of full-time experience in a therapy facility, including personal calibration and spot check of at least one teletherapy unit.
Preferred Experience
  • Completion of a clinical medical physics residency program.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern radiation therapy systems and sub-systems.
  • Experience with treatment planning software systems, such as Aria and RayStation.
