Job Title: Medical Physicist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in the clinical, educational, and research aspects of our Radiation Oncology department.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the clinical aspects of radiation therapy treatment planning, including patient dosimetry, plan and chart checking, and 3-D or IMRT treatment planning.
  • Participate in special treatment procedures, treatment planning, and treatment delivery, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT), and GTC frame fitting.
  • Participate in routine physics QA program, including linear accelerator calibration and monthly/annual mechanical and dosimetry, CT-simulator, OBI and CBCT, Brachytherapy, etc.
  • Provide instruction in Radiation Oncology Physics and Radiation Safety to residents, fellows, radiation therapists, radiation physicists, radiation oncologists, nurses, and biomedical engineers.
  • Engage in original or ongoing research programs, presenting status and findings at departmental, regional, and national meetings, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Attend tumor boards and chart rounds, and acquire continuing education credits to fulfill requirements of maintenance of board certification.
  • Act as a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), participating in continuing education opportunities and attending selected meetings.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Radiation Physics, Radiological Health, or allied field with 2 years of postgraduate clinical experience at a major radiotherapy center.
