Overview: The Academic Success Center (ASC) is dedicated to providing students and trainees at Baylor College of Medicine with essential resources, services, and developmental opportunities aimed at enhancing their academic skills and maximizing their potential throughout their educational journey.

The ASC is in search of a qualified individual for the role of Academic Services Coordinator. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating student and trainee success by managing all business-related functions and activities within the ASC.

This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the online scheduling system for academic coaching and tutoring sessions.
  • Oversee the online records management system for ASC services, activities, and events.
  • Assist in monitoring relevant data related to academic coaching sessions and workshop participation.
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments for the ASC Director and Associate as needed.
  • Support the updating and maintenance of websites and communication tools (e.g., brochures, flyers).
  • Create marketing materials for various ASC events and assist in disseminating information to the campus community.
  • Organize room bookings and necessary arrangements for on-campus workshops, lectures, and meetings for ASC leadership and staff.
  • Ensure the upkeep of ASC study areas and student lounge, including the functionality and maintenance of relevant technology.
  • Assist in training and supervising student workers.
  • Maintain financial oversight of the ASC, including budget management, purchasing, and communication with the division budget office.
  • Oversee ASC office inventory and coordinate the ordering and delivery of supplies.
  • Assist in the development of surveys and other assessment tools, as well as generating reports and data summaries.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, human sciences/humanities, education, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience managing budgets and/or finances for a department, along with proficiency in Office 365 (e.g., PowerPoint, Teams, Word, SharePoint) and data-gathering programs like Survey Monkey.
  • Strong professional communication skills.
