Job Title: Peer Navigator

At The Educational Alliance Inc., we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Navigator to join our team. As a Peer Navigator, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey, providing guidance, and connecting them with essential resources.

Job Summary

The Peer Navigator will work closely with our team to provide peer recovery support to individuals in outpatient, residential, and community settings. This role requires a strong understanding of the addiction recovery process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide orientation to individuals regarding the process of their treatment and support them in creating a personalized recovery plan.
  • Work collaboratively with case managers and social workers to ensure seamless support and services.
  • Identify and connect individuals with community resources, self-help groups, and other essential services.
  • Act as a role model, mentor, and advocate for individuals in recovery, promoting self-advocacy and empowerment.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and report any concerns or issues to the case manager or social worker.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of interactions with individuals.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of work experience.
  • NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or (CPRA-P) certification.
  • Knowledge of the addiction recovery process and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.
