Job Summary:

The Director of Recreational Services is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of recreational activities and events on campus. This includes supervising recreation staff, conducting training, and maintaining recreation facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational programs and activities for individuals with disabilities.
  • Supervise and train recreation staff to ensure high-quality services.
  • Maintain recreation facilities and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate and execute off-campus trips and events, ensuring participant safety and well-being.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring adherence to purchase card policies and procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, following policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Act as a driver for trips and events, as needed.
Requirements:
  • Ability to plan, organize, and conduct large group events and activities.
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously with others, maintain flexibility in work schedule, and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to develop and implement therapeutic activities in a group and individual setting.
  • Proven ability to supervise others, conduct disciplinary actions, and communicate problems within the department.
  • Ability to balance and stay within a budget, maintain purchase card policy and procedures, and develop and maintain reports and databases.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of facility person-directed planning system, active treatment, and record-keeping policy and procedures.
  • Ability to train other staff, communicate problems within the department, and develop and maintain reports and databases.
  • Ability to balance and stay within a budget, maintain purchase card policy and procedures, and demonstrate knowledge of ICF-MR standards.
