Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director of Residential Learning and Academic Engagement. This role will lead residentially-based Learning Communities (LCs) in support of the Department of Residential Life's vision and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Learning Communities Team and manage academic integration efforts across campus.
  • Develop and implement a residential curriculum approach to engagement and education.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Residential Life to ensure that LCs align with established learning outcomes.
  • Instill respect and foster a sense of community that creates, promotes, and supports a socially just residential environment.
  • Develop and implement programs and services designed to promote student success.
  • Manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Work closely with a team of colleagues to serve as a representative of the department and division.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in student affairs administration, higher education, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential education, curriculum development, and student support.
  • Must have 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication, writing, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to living and learning programs and services.
  • Commitment to diversity, social justice, and fostering a collaborative multicultural environment.
  • Computer proficiency, to include competency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and other commonly used office software.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of student development theory and current trends/best practices for engaging students within a residential curriculum.
  • Experience working with databases and data gathering, analysis, and interpretation.
