IT Project Manager II

Overview: The IT Project Manager II is responsible for leading and managing projects related to designated accounts and initiatives. This role involves maintaining effective communication among all stakeholders and developing comprehensive project planning and execution documentation to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate consistent and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle with internal teams, adhering to departmental standards and company communication policies.
  • Define and communicate project requirements to stakeholders, establishing milestones, timelines, funding guidelines, and reporting procedures for effective project completion.
  • Identify technical requirements, assist in the creation of technical documentation, and address inquiries to support the project coordination team in technician selection.
  • Develop internal resource plans to ascertain the necessary resources, their duration, and roles required for successful project execution, sharing this information with the team for optimal resource allocation.
  • Create a detailed coordinator walkthrough, documenting responsibilities and project requirements for the coordination team, and monitor compliance throughout the project duration.
  • Evaluate client needs based on specifications to develop project scope, timelines, budgets, and essential documentation, including risk assessments and communication plans.
  • Inform the internal project and management team of any changes affecting the resource plan.
  • Report on project issues, concerns, escalations, potential risks, and budget overruns to the internal project and management team.
  • Lead and conduct internal and external project meetings, ensuring agendas and minutes are maintained.
  • Maintain status reports for billing and auditing purposes.
  • Prepare and present client-facing Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Conduct project closeout meetings, including lessons learned discussions with clients and project team members.
  • Provide regular performance evaluations of the project coordination team, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, and assist in setting goals for professional development.
  • Participate in the hiring process for coordination staff members.
  • Deliver ongoing training and leadership to the project coordination team through training materials and mentorship.

Qualifications:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including typing proficiency.

Thorough understanding of project management principles and practices.

3-5 years of experience in project management.

Proficient in internet search engines, basic data entry, and data management, with a strong command of Microsoft 365. Willingness to learn new software as it becomes available.

Basic understanding of IT services, including network infrastructure, structured cabling, and end-user devices.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Associate degree in Management, Business Administration, Communications, or Computer Science, or a Bachelor's degree.

PMP certification or completion of project management courses is advantageous.

A+ and other technical certifications are a plus.

ITIL certifications are also beneficial.

Preferred Experience:

  • Communication Skills: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Network Infrastructure: 3 years (Preferred)

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

Preferred Licenses:

  • ITIL 4 Foundation (Preferred)
  • CompTIA A+ (Preferred)
  • PMP (Preferred)
