Health Education Specialist

As a Health Education Specialist at Rutland Regional Medical Center, you will provide educational and clinical services to patients in a clinical setting, focusing on disease or disorder self-management following clinical standards of care. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge on disease or disorder related issues to serve as a resource to the patient community and participate in events designed to increase health awareness. Your role will involve performing patient care activities for patients of diverse ages in a clinical setting, advocating and utilizing the nursing process in the care of all age populations along the health continuum.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred or required as per specialty credentialing requirements.
- 2 years of clinical experience in chronic disease care in a specialty area.
- Experience in educating a diverse population on healthcare issues is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed in the State of Vermont.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Appropriate credentialing per specific discipline or to be acquired within 1 year of obtaining the position.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and relate information to individuals of varying ages from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
Salary Range: $64,103.23
