About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team at Carroll Transportation Group in Norfolk, VA. This role is crucial to maintaining our fleet of diesel tractors, container chassis, and forklifts.

The Truck and Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, including tire, oil, and brake changes on diesel tractors, container chassis, and forklifts. They will also inspect and assess parts for damage and excessive wear, replace and repair tires, complete work orders, order necessary parts, handle daily administrative duties, ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and safe for operators' use, adhere to safety protocols and best practices while repairing equipment, accurately document repair activities, collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and tools. Benefits include 401(k) and health insurance after 90 days. Job Type: Full-time, Expected Hours: 40 per week, Salary: Hourly, based on experience, qualifications, and tools.
