Job Opportunity

Material Handling Inc. is a leading provider of material handling equipment services in the Southeast, seeking an experienced Dock & Door Technician to join our Alabama team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue through exceptional service and planning, coordinating, and executing the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of commercial overhead doors, loading dock equipment, and warehouse systems across the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure and optimize technician utilization to provide service in a profitable manner.
  • Ensure technicians operate in a safe environment and are properly trained on all safety procedures.
  • Drive sales through exceptional service and addressing customer needs.
  • Troubleshoot dock and door equipment, mechanisms, mechanical systems, and electrical circuits.
  • Perform service, maintenance, repair, and installation on commercial doors and loading dock equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on warehouse facilities.
  • Verify quality by checking for proper installation, clearance, and balance.
  • Communicate effectively and complete all paperwork accurately.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of door installation experience, with Fire Door Certification a plus.
  • Dock equipment service and installation experience is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or technical school graduate preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Good communication and paperwork skills.
  • Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.
