Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider II to join our Emergency General Surgery team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including obtaining histories, performing physical exams, making assessments, ordering tests, and determining diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to established protocols.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians, consultants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate APP students, contributing to the education of residents, interns, and other healthcare trainees.
- Stay current with the latest developments, advancements, and trends in emergency general surgery by attending seminars, workshops, and professional organizations.
- Master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
- Current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Family, Adult, Gerontology, Adult-Gerontology, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Acute Care, Pediatric, Pediatric Acute Care, Neonatal, Psychiatric Mental Health, or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Active certification as a Nurse Practitioner by one of the following: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (GNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (PNP-PC or PPCNP), Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (PNP-AC), Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP).
