Job Title: Assistant General Manager Fine Dining

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager Fine Dining is responsible for assisting the General Manager in overseeing the restaurant operation, ensuring the highest standards of quality service, and creating an exceptional guest experience. This role requires a strong understanding of fine dining operations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in supervising all restaurant staff and ensuring excellent service standards.
  • Oversee the restaurant operation, including menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve guest satisfaction and increase revenue.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create menus that meet guest demand and are cost-effective.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff to ensure excellent service and productivity.
  • Monitor and evaluate food, beverage, and service offerings to initiate improvements and build relationships with preferred guests.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Four (4) or more years of prior fine dining management experience, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Food Handler's Certificate for managers required.
  • Certification as a sommelier (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET) required.
  • Extensive knowledge of wines from various regions, including grape varieties, wine production methods, and aging processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, staff, and other outside contacts.
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills; and the ability to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and busy, with moderate noise levels. The Member may be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.
