Estimated Salary: $130,000 - $190,000 per year

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Physician to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to our patients, including performing surgeries, interpreting test/lab studies, and consulting with physicians as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. First Surgical Assistant
  2. Hospital Admissions and Consultations
  3. Inpatient Rounds
  4. Comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a full range of Orthopedic injuries and conditions
  5. Orders and interprets test/lab studies, including X-ray, MRI, CT Scan, EMG/NCS Bone Scan, blood tests, urinalysis, wound cultures, and synovial fluid analysis
  6. Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's scope of work
  7. Provides therapeutic treatments, including oral medications, corticosteroid injections, applications of casts, splints, braces, and prescribe physical and occupational therapies
  8. Performs minor office/emergency room procedures, including fracture closed reduction, laceration repair, and I&D of abscess
  9. Provides patient and family education and instructions
  10. Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality
  11. Documents patient encounters according to state & federal guidelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Certification through NCCPA
  • Valid Rhode Island License
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in EMR software
