We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Development Specialist to join our underwriting team at Western Reserve Group.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business administration and finance principles, with a focus on risk management and underwriting.

The Underwriting Development Specialist will assist underwriting team members with a wide range of tasks, including job shadowing and working directly with the AVP on key projects.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with agents, department, and company personnel.

The position requires the individual to apply common sense, understanding, reasoning, and sound educated judgment to properly evaluate and analyze situations.

The work environment is reasonably quiet with needed interaction between other unit employees, immediate supervisor, and other Company staff.

The workstation has the necessary equipment to perform the position duties, including a personal computer, telephone, file space, and needed worktable space.

The Underwriting Development Specialist will be assigned a specific work cubicle station and/or individual work area.

The position requires the individual to be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry, with involvement in on-campus activities and display of leadership qualities.

The position requires the individual to be 18 years of age.

The Underwriting Development Specialist will have the opportunity to work directly with the AVP on key projects and gain valuable experience within an insurance company.
