Role Responsibilities:
The Commercial Real Estate Credit Specialist is responsible for ensuring the prudent expansion of the Bank's Commercial Real Estate loan portfolio. In a collaborative environment, this role emphasizes exceptional customer service while upholding the integrity of the credit management framework. Key responsibilities include:
- Upholding the credit management integrity by adhering to Bank policies and procedures.
- Monitoring the commercial real estate portfolio for vulnerabilities and suggesting necessary procedural changes.
- Authorizing Credit Recommendations within delegated limits, ensuring accurate risk grading and appropriate loan structuring.
- Leading the Real Estate Credit Management team, setting objectives, evaluating performance, and overseeing team operations.
- Managing the Non-Owner Occupied Annual Review Process and conducting CRE Stress Tests.
- Engaging with regulators concerning the Bank's Commercial Real Estate lending practices.
Additional Duties:
- Providing ongoing support and training to commercial lenders on real estate lending and property valuation.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and/or training. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Key Skills:
- Robust commercial real estate underwriting capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of documentation for complex commercial real estate credits, including notes, loan agreements, security agreements, and title documents.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts clearly in both verbal and written formats.
- Strong accounting knowledge, either through academic coursework or equivalent professional experience, as it pertains to credit underwriting.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range for this role is competitive, with additional incentive compensation based on performance. The Bank of Marin offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to meet employee needs, including health care coverage, a retirement savings plan with employer matching, stock ownership plans, tuition reimbursement, and volunteer programs.
