Quality Assurance Specialist

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Job Summary:The Quality Assurance Engineer will perform quality engineering functions and make engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks. This includes planning, analyzing, documenting, and inspecting nuclear, mechanical, structural, or electrical components, systems, equipment, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze the quality programs, systems, and procedures of suppliers to assess their capability to manufacture quality components.
- Conduct audits of manufacturing, testing, and inspection processes at suppliers' facilities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Review contracts to ensure proper application of requirements.
- Review supplier drawings and procedures for compliance with contract requirements.
- Conduct in-process surveillance of manufacturing processes at suppliers' facilities to ensure contract and procedural compliance.
- Re-Inspect components after acceptance by suppliers.
- Support resolution of technical and quality issues at the supplier.
- Interface with various internal and external stakeholders to support planning and execution of supplier oversight.
- BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum Two (2) years of relevant experience.
- An advanced degree may be considered in lieu of some year(s) of experience.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for newer college graduates.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
- A B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
- A proven track record of effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in supplier quality assurance.
- Previous experience using/interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with industry standards.
BPMI is a project engineering organization supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We provide design, manufacturing, and supply chain management of the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of nuclear power plant components installed in submarines and aircraft carriers.
We also deliver information technology and operational solutions to the Nuclear Navy, enabling them to fulfill their critical mission.
