As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI), you will engage in quality engineering tasks and make informed engineering decisions across various assignments.
Your responsibilities may encompass planning, analyzing, documenting, and inspecting nuclear, mechanical, structural, or electrical components, systems, equipment, and facilities.
Tasks may also involve evaluations of chemical or materials, design assessments, operational support, engineering methodologies, software development, and analysis/auditing of vendor procedures and systems for quality assurance or manufacturing oversight.
This role necessitates a solid understanding and application of engineering techniques, principles, and practices relevant to your area of expertise. You will be accountable for upholding the technical integrity of the Company within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.*Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate the quality programs, systems, and procedures of suppliers to determine their capability to produce quality components.
2. Conduct audits of manufacturing, testing, and inspection processes at supplier facilities to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
3. Review contracts to confirm the correct application of requirements.
4. Analyze supplier drawings and procedures for compliance with contractual obligations.
5. Perform in-process surveillance of manufacturing operations at supplier locations to ensure compliance with contracts and procedures.
6. Re-inspect components post-acceptance by suppliers.
7. Assist in resolving technical and quality-related issues with suppliers.
8. Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective supplier oversight planning and execution.
You will have delegated engineering responsibilities for all aspects of assigned tasks, with guidance provided for non-routine assignments and occasional support for routine tasks.
You will address issues within your area of responsibility.Regularly communicate the status of supplier performance to management.
Understand and implement Company engineering policies and procedures relevant to your area of responsibility.
Note that this role may involve up to 25-30% travel.

*Minimum Job Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
At least Two (2) years of relevant experience.
An advanced degree may be considered in lieu of some years of experience.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for recent graduates.
A security clearance is required; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is mandatory.
*Preferred Job Qualifications:
A B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
A proven history of effective written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience in supplier quality assurance.
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with industry standards.
