Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for objectively assessing the capability of supplier production performance, identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities, and assisting internal equipment departments with their cognizant production contracts. You will work closely with our Supplier Quality Assurance team and sponsoring equipment department to ensure that production operations risks are collected, prioritized, and mitigated.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement methods, processes, and tools to assess supplier production operations management system health.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to equipment departments regarding production operations management, including assessment of risks and strengths of new and existing production contracts.
- Analyze quality programs of suppliers to assess their capability to manufacture quality components efficiently.
- Execute the overall supplier oversight function in concert with BPMI Supplier Quality Assurance team and sponsoring equipment department.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Six (6) years of relevant experience, including three (3) years of Production or Operations Management experience manufacturing complex, highly engineered electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Fourteen (14) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt is preferred.
- Experience implementing the Lean Principles, including Visual Factory, Lean Management, Focused Improvement, Teamwork, and 5S.
- Familiarity with PLM, ERP, MRP, and MES systems and workflows.
- Production planning experience.
- Supply Chain Management knowledge/experience.
- ISO Lead Auditor Certificate.
BPMI is a project engineering organization supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We provide design, manufacturing, and supply chain management of the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of nuclear power plant components installed in submarines and aircraft carriers. In addition, BPMI provides upgraded replacement components in support of refueling and overhaul activities, and aids in the ultimate storage and disposition of spent naval fuel.
