Position: Undergraduate Medical Assistant Intern (Part-Time)

Steel City South Pediatrics is a highly regarded walk-in pediatric primary care clinic dedicated to delivering outstanding medical services for children in the Pittsburgh area. Our mission is to enhance accessibility to primary care while offering compassionate and comprehensive services to children from infancy through young adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking a medical assistant intern to undertake clinical responsibilities within our facility.
  • Primary duties will encompass gathering patient records and test results, managing daily administrative functions, preparing examination rooms, and assisting healthcare providers during medical procedures.
  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to perform effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment while responding appropriately to patient emergencies.
  • Medical Assistants should possess strong communication skills to foster positive relationships among healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
Educational Requirements:
  • Current enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s Degree program (Minimum requirement).
  • Certification from a Medical Assistant program or military medical training is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • A cover letter is required for application consideration.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD, CPT coding, and relevant clinical pharmacology is preferred to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems is beneficial.
  • A commitment to healthcare excellence and improving primary care accessibility is highly valued.
