Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with various aspects of patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
- Take vital signs, register patients, schedule testing, exams, and treatments, and stock supplies and clean exam rooms.
- Coordinate the ordering of blood products in collaboration with RNs, Blood Bank, and Laboratory.
- Greets each person entering the clinic, identifies self, and explains processes and procedures to new patients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary activities, such as staff meetings and committees, as assigned.
- Assist in the registration of patients, including verification and confirmation of health insurance coverage.
- Immediately report any situation that may impact the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Provide front desk coverage as assigned and continuously monitor the environment to ensure the appearance, comfort, and safety of the clinic.
- Account for all customers in the clinic and provide lobby/waiting room coordination and supervision.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and clinic staff and collect 100% of copays daily.
- Coordinate scheduling, including testing, and manage the bone marrow biopsy schedule for multiple practitioners and bone marrow technicians.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Patient care experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Act 34.
